unfortunately the CookBook is not up-to-date since we simply have had no
spare time left.
However, the scripted and non-scripted modes are just different options
to process a form with respect to a browser's capabilities and/or to
user preferences. The Chiba processor itself always works on the server
side, so all validation is done there. The scripted mode employs AJAX
techniques to provide immediate feedback in constrast to the
non-scripted mode which always requires a roundtrip for processing.
