No, it's not the same problem. I did manage to see that problem too, but 
this is not it.
Please take this form that has initial values with umlaut characters and 
try it out:
http://www.rauramo.com/vcard-aumlouml.xml

On my setup (W2K, tomcat5, jdk1.5.0, chiba1.0.0 with the patch applied 
manually) this form opens up nice, but the servlet freezes at 
HttpParser.readRawLine() after submitting the form.
