Subject: Re: Do generated id's within repeats remain same?
hello dean,

ids are generated when new items are inserted into a repeating structure. an id of course *doesn't* change during the life cycle of the form control. once generated, it remains until the control is disposed by either a delete action or shutdown.

regards, uli.

Hello,

I have a form that has several "sheets" or tabs that are toggled between. Using Javascript and a cookie, I want to identify selects within a repeat using the generated ID. I am wondering if it is possible for the value to change if I did some work in repeats on another tab and then returned back to the original tab? It seems to not change but I have my doubts because the Chiba cookbook states on page 14 that "Id attributes found inside the body of a repeat element are re-written to be unique again". Does this refer only to newer items within repeats?

Thanks,

Dean
