no. its not supported yet.
if you just want to load a list from somewhere else than your instance
then you may use another instance to fill your list form that.
but there's no support for 'copy' yet.
we're aware of the importance of this feature and its quite high on the
list, but we still have to concentrate on stabilility and correctness of
the existing features.

It's not you. You understand how to use itemset just fine.
The problem is that it is not yet implemented in Chiba 0.9.2 and likely will
not be there for 0.9.3 either.
Joern and Uli have it pretty high on their to-do list though, from what I
gather.
