Thanks. I need to pass a query string along as well. With GET, I'm just
attaching to the end of the URL that I pass to DocumentBuilder.parse(string
uri). How would do that with a POST? Should I open up an OutputStream from
the URLConnection and send the query string to it once a connection is open.

You can open the URLConnection yourself and change the request method.
Then pass the InputStream from the connection to the parser.
