I post "beta version" of tool to create animations as that.
You modify two cubic Bezier as trajectory and choose some shape and 
color for it ...

We can imagine more cubics as trajectory, color changing along 
animation, fill shape with gradients or patterns and get svg code for 
animation ( sorry for js )...
This animation is as SVG animateMotion with rotate="auto" but keeping 
all drawings on screen. Perhaps a possibility for SVG 3.14 ?
