Thanks for your quick reply. I did deploy it successfully using iPlanet
application server. However, I was wondering if it was possible to avoid using
application servers. Since rpcrouter and messagerouter are servlets can they
be configured directly in web server.

You will need an application serve to install it. Something besides
just IIS or Apache; like BEA's Weblogic, IBM Websphere, Apache Tomcat,
