I had solved the problem.

I am using solaris 8 now. When I set the .tcshrc file to set the 
classpath, I checked the catalina.sh file first. there is a varible name 
as CLASS_PATH. Then, I set CLASS_PATH varible in my .tcshrc file.

In fact, it should be CLASSPATH.

I changed them back to CLASSPATH. Everything works OK now.
