RE: Apache SOAP does not recognbize https protocol?

Yeah - you need to include the jsse.jar, jcert.jar and jnet.jar from Sun.  The 
exception you're getting is cause the JDK doesn't contain support for URLs 
starting with https.. unknown protocol.. those 3 jar files are required to do 
that.
