Yup, eclispe sucks big time at managing a project that has not been created
ex-novo inside the ide, letting only a few files off a project or getting
existing files imported into a new project.
There is an option to open a file without an open project, but it disables 99%
of ide functionality.
I've got projects with many existing files coded over a few years of
development, and I'v given up on using eclipe with them.
