Hi Thomas,
I have attached the SVG document to generate the error using Batik v1.5 b4.
It should also be noted that once the exception is thrown, no other SVG
document can be opened from that point onward.
The attached file will display a rectangle initially, and when the user
clicks within the shape, it should switch to the image. I have tested it
with Adobe's plug-in and it seems to work as expected.

A small standalone application or an SVG document that shows this
behaviour would help greatly (you should be able to add the 'image'
element with java script).
