handling arbitrary XML over HTTP

Hi All,

 Given that Axis is a "SOAP Engine", it makes sense that it is very
SOAP-centric, but is there a way in which the Axis Handler-Chain can be used
to handle a Request/Response that is invoked via arbitrary XML over HTTP, or
does it have to be SOAP? I suppose I could wrapper my XML in a SOAP message,
but that seems like a kludge. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
