Not snazzy (was: New Unicode Savvy Logo): msg#00716text.unicode.general
A number of people in this thread have suggested that the "Unicode Savvy" logos shown are "not snazzy", but the set of W3C compliance logo's are also not graphically "snazzy". Snazzy or not, everyone knows what the W3C logos look like, and thus they serve very well their purpose. In line with a suggestion made in this thread that a "Unicode Compliance" logo feature the highly-recognized Unicode logo shown in the upper left corner of the Unicode home page, I submit to you the following attached logo in PNG format as the basis for a logo which: (1) Features the well-known Unicode consortium logo (2) Adheres to the Unicode web site's main-page color scheme (3) Is arguably not "snazzy", but is in close stylistic compliance with the well-known W3C logos. Currently my logo just spells out the word "UNICODE" and there is a fat check mark just like the W3C logos. There is enough gray space under the word "UNICODE" to put something like the word "compliant" or a version designation like "3.2" or "4.0" below: I leave that for list members to continue the debate. If anyone wants to obtain the master logo with layers, email me and I will send it to you. The master is big enough to make decent Web logos with, but of course I didn't have any original TIFFs to work from. It's in GIMP ".xcf" format. - Ed Trager Kellogg Eye Center, Ann Arbor ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ---------------------~--> Get A Free Psychic Reading!
