Does the error occur only if you have more than a fixed number of entries in
your bibliography?
In any case it would be helpful to try and reproduce this problem on a different
box. Maybe we still have some big vs. low-endianness problems that are triggered
only by particular datasets. Could you please send me your complete reference
database as a RIS or risx file and the basename.id.xml file that is generated
when running runbib (this way I don't need to peek at your thesis)?
