Hi,
in an attempt to streamline the documentation, I've converted the SGML
manual as well as the man pages to XML. Now I can build the manual and
the man pages from the same DocBook sources. Besides, the tool
documentation is a bit more consistent due to the manpage
requirements.

All relevant changes are in the Reference Manual (Section IV).
Package builders may also want to update their CVS and check whether
everything works ok. I'm afraid that I've broken something as the
changes of the build system were pretty fundamental.
