I'm currently quite happy with the RefDB query language which is
basically a SQL subset.
I'm of the opinion that the free software bib world will not go
anywhere* if we don't solve the problem of interoperability. SRU/W and
CQL is one solution that problem.

end-users, including the mass of MS Word users out there.; real
alternatives to applications like Endnote. We're nowhere near that
now.
