Hi Markus,
no, sorry, that's not the problem. It's just the the unicode characters that are above the 8Bit range (I hope I state that correctly, letters like ḥ, ḍ, ṣ, ī, ū, ā) these cause me trouble (... and ʼʻ).
They are in plain utf-8 and not in Latex commands.
