Do you have OS 10.3, if so what is your path? > > TIA > > George > Howdy, The path is the list of directories the system looks through to find executables at the UNIX level. It looks in the path list starting at the left and continuing until it finds the program it's looking for; e.g., first in /bin and then, if it doesn't find it there, in /sbin, etc., for your PATH. If it doesn't find the program it complains. By the way, this has nothing to do with 10.2.x vs 10.3.x. It is clear that your PATH variable does not have the directory which contains pdflatex, etc., so it complains that it can't find the program. Now... 1)are you installing gwTeX? If so is it via the i-installer? If so, you'll have to run the configuration stage of the install again. 2)Did you try to install TeXLive directly from the CD/DVD? If so you should probably find out where it was installed and delete all of it before using the i-installer. 3)Did you try to install the FINK version of TeX? If so you should do the same to that install. The one thing that looks ok is that the PATH looks like it's pretty ``virgin'' so other software hasn't done anything bad to it (yet).
