You could put in a third server with mysql and have both servers use it for the database.   Could also have a directory on it nfs mounted on the other two for voicemail.  hell you could probably even nfs mount /etc/asterisk from the third server onto the other two.   Not sure if this would suit your setup, but is just a thought.

Some form of Mysql Replication?

Also looking for some ideas for VM replication?
