Problem with sound

Hi,
I try to deploy an ohphone  into a set top box with Linux Freepia

I download pwlib 1.7.5 (Pandora) and openh323 1.14.4 from voxgratia.org

Compilation works
(./configure --enable-plugins for pwlib)
(./configure for openh323)

alsa and oss plugins have been created correctly

when i try to run simph323 (from sample), the sound device are set empty

sound output device: ""
sound  input device: ""

when i try to specify the device (simph323 -nls "/dev/dsp0")

the program stop and give me an empty list for available devices

I have the same problem when i try to compile pwlib without alsa 
(--disable-alsa)

I try to make it run on the Linux freepia, on mandrake and also on the 
last knoppix version with default configuration.

(I also try it on different computers)

I correctly define the PWLIBPLUGINDIR to make it run.

I become crasy with this sound problem!
