Oh, I think this worked in the past and is a regression: In the past
the initrd just left udevd running, so it just worked in the rescue
target. However, due to multiple considerations that was changed
some moths ago, so that the initrd does not leave user-space
processes running and thus provide a cleaner, and more
deterministic setup.

We'll have to add the udevd start into a minit startup skript.

btw since kernel 2.6.26-5 ide drives are now also mapped as /dev/sd*


Yes, many in the past already, more and more will show up thru the
generic block layer, which is a good thing (tm, finally) and nothing
in T2 should care about the name of block device nodes, already.
