I fixed it for me: changed the install path of Imlib2 from /opt/e17 to /usr.
Not sure if this is the right way or can cause unwanted sideeffects.

It will probably not have unwanted side effects, however the real fix
would be to fix the media system configure to check where imlib2
is installed into, or maybe it's configure already has a option the
T2 media-system package's .conf could pass the path with something
like configure --with-imlib2=/opt/e17 or so.

Maybe submit your new package and we can take a look helping
you there.

As I wrote, the configure script does a
'if gcc -o test.o test.c -lImlib2 -lm > /dev/null 2>&1 ; then'

so it is assumed the Imlib2 is somewhere in a lib path (in my Xubuntu its
in /usr/lib).
Probably /opt/e17 is not a lib path ?
Can we force it in /usr/lib ?
Or how is the system dealing with libs ?
