I have the same, I updated yesterday from trunk.
There is also a warning one line before:

warning: libcom_err.so.2, needed by ../lib/libext2fs.so, not found (try
using -rpath or -rpath-link)

Strange warning, because libcom_err.so.2 is definitly there, in
src.e2fsprogs....../lib/
