Hi Marian,

Hi,

My (legacy) custom application relies on a program called beep. It is written
by Johnathan Nightingale and lives at http://www.johnath.com/beep/.

The program prods a terminal in a way that the PC speaker makes different
noises and is used for notification purposes called from shell scripts.

The sourcecode consists of a single C file plus manpage.

I could not find that program in the T2 package list, it may be part of a
bigger package, in that case please forget this posting at this point.

I have packaged beep for T2. It is close to trivial but still I have only
tested it on one architecture and one target, but with several builds and
re-builds.

Find an archive of the package attached.

Nice! I did not even know an external program exists :-) So far I knew
e.g. the shell built-ins.

I committed the package with just a little cleanups (e.g. the Makefile
patch does not need to remove the variable assignments, the make
arguments take precedence and override them) and minor text headline
changes (and of course the copyright header / checksum addition).

Thanks again for the patch, committed revision 29599.

Have a nice weekend,
