Rootfs does not include /dev

Hi,

I compiled a system for avr32, which went well. I added some packages, and rebuilt some packages which initially failed, so I guess the rootfs folder changed a lot since the first build.
When I look in he rootfs folder, I don't see anything in /dev, and I guess that is the cause that my kernel fails with a kernel panic. 

Is there a way to rebuild the /dev files?
