LZMA binary packages with T2: msg#00018t2.devel
Hi all, due to discussion in the #t2 IRC channel I further patched our mine installer and tweaked the build scripts to support for lzma compressed binary packages. LZMA allows for even higher compression compared to bzip2 with even better decompression performance. For example the OpenOffice binary package for x86 is 83MB with bzip2 and just 53MB with LZMA compression, ... http://www.t2-project.org/packages/lzma.html Maybe we should even consider making lzma the default after some more testing in the near future.
