Wow, gcc-4.2 caused way less regressions than any other previous
gcc major update I navigated our source base thru (and yes, I'll never
forget the first gcc-3.0 which really was a time where we all learned
a lot about clean boostrapping of a new, isolated system).

As far as I can see only only perl had to be fixed of the packages in
the desktop package selection - though I fixed some linux-header
related failures (raidtools, wavemon, ...) on-the-way.

The updates are comitted, now:

r24046
* updated gcc (4.1.2 -> 4.2.0-20070501)
r24047
* updated glibc (20061002 -> 2.5)
* updated glibc32 (20061002 -> 2.5)

And will be re-tested on the reference builder. I plan to polish
some warnings and settings of the livecd and spin a 7.0.0-alpha
desktop-kde-livecd early next week.
