Crash in "Linux kernel options"

I downloaded the source trunk snapshot of 13th Feb. 2007.
Ran the Config script, mostly accepted the defaults (except added
some package selection rules), then chose "Linux kernel options"
then chose "Apply custom kernel build configuration settings"
and the script crashed, with:

"Unknown returncode: 126"

It's repeatable, for me anyway.
