You could e.g. just use Puppy Linux (since 2.10 it is based on T2) and modify
it for your needs (the release is about 60-70MB).

I also started a rescue target that aims to become a very very tiny rescue
Linux with X. It uses uClibc for slightly smaller binaries than other Linux
flavours including Puppy Linux or DSL.

I also plan to just include the Kdrive Xvesa and Xfb servers in that system.
