Subject: Re: Building with MIPS architecture

Hi Jasmine.

2006/12/6, Jasmine B. Baluyot <jbaluyot@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:
Good day!

When building with MIPS architecture, the following configurations were used:
- cross-compile is enabled
- target distribution is generic embedded
- architecture is mips
- little endian

"./scripts/Build-Target -cfg system" was executed but errors occured:

checking build system type... lib/config.guess: unable to guess system type
configure: error: cannot guess build type; you must specify one

I encountered the same error when building a MIPS target, please try the
attached patch, it adds the --build option to the configure script. Some
packages use a really outdated config.guess script and are unable to
recognize the target using the given "--host=mipsel-t2-linux-uclibc"
configure option.

I'm not compiling on T2 Linux, instead I'm compiling on a WhiteBox machine.

What are other configurations that I need before building?

Basically it should work with any other distri than T2, but there are
still some dependencies on the host system side.

Did you download the T2-6.0.1 release or do you build from SVN?

Michael
