I am not using rule packs, only ruleset files, and all of our ruleset files are in the EventServer target.

But I think I finally get it...

To add/remove rules (-imprbrule, -delrbrule):
        add/remove from $my_rb_dir/TEC_RULES/rule_sets

To add/remove from a target, or change rule order (-imptgtrule, -deltgtrule) :
        add/remove/change-order from $my_rb_dir/TEC_RULES/rule_sets_<target>

So it seems that to do something simple like change the order of 2 rules, I can fumble with that stoopid wrb command for 5 minutes, or spend 5 seconds editing the $my_rb_dir/TEC_RULES/rule_sets_EventServer file in vi!

I hate the performance of the wrb script invoking a JRE for each action
(even on a regatta 570 or 590).
My scripts generate all necessary index files by themselves
(rule_sets, rule_sets_<target>, rule_packs, .load_classes, *.rpk).
I only use wrb for -crtrb, -comprules and -loadrb.

For distributed rulebase management I have something like this
using "here" documents (generated automatically). I'm even tempted
to use shar sometimes ;)
