ITM time_occured format query in TEC

Hi List....

TEC 3.9 ..... ITM 5.1.2

I am running some checking thru TEC on time_occurred attribute

TEC adapter generated eventlog events populate this field with the follwing 
format

Mar 22 13:26:27 2005

My ITM generated TEC events  populate this attribute in the following manner....

03/05/2005 18:46:13

Is there a way to alter the latter so it will follow the same format as my 
adapter events ?
