Subject: [FW4.1.1] Installing/upgrading mobile console

Hi All,

We are currently trying to build a package to use CM to distribute the Mobile Console.  We have created the response files as per the documentation, but we are still having issues with the install.

If the install is done on a machine where the previous version is installed and the client is logged off, there does not seem to be a problem.

If the previous version is installed and the client is logged on we are having a problem where the mobile.exe process does not shut down when we use the response file to remove the console. Even though the removal did not work, the setup seems to still exit as a success. We then try to execute the install response file and we get a failure in the log (error -3 whatever that means). We have a script that executes now that terminates the running mobile.exe and now the install appears to work.  The problem is that when the install completes, the mobile.exe is started again, but as a System process.  When it is running like this, we cannot use the mobile console to distribute packages as it does not appear to work.  To get it to work, the client has to reboot the workstation so that the console will be started under their id.

Has anyone else gone through this? Any ideas on how to make it work would be appreciated.
