Subject: Re: TME10 [AMX] Problem installing AMX patch

My bad - after my re-re-reading of all of the install doc and release notes and readme files, I finally found in the 5.1.2-FP01 readme a note that says that you must tell TEDW to change the version number of the base 512 AMX from 5.1.1 to 5.1.1.600.  There's a twh_setwepver.bat file in the bin directory that you have to run to fix the 5.1.2 AMX base.  All is now well - for now.  Thanks.

Joe,

Your procedure is correct.

When installing the ITM WEP, you can directly install the WEP from the ITM 5.1.2 CD then apply additional patches.  5.1.2 WEP is the base, you don't need 5.1.1

I am unsure why the patch install is not recognizing the ITM 5.1.2 WEP (product code 5.1.1.600)

Try using the "twh_configwep -f list -u userId -p password" command on the control server to confirm you have the base WEP version installed

You should get

AMX        Version 5.1.1.600                                       V11           IBM Tivoli Monitoring

AMY        Version 1.1.0.600                                       V11           IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Operating Systems

or try running the Uninstall WEP program to verify it recognizes the correct wep.

[tme10] TME10 [AMX] Problem installing AMX patch

I've just installed TEDW 1.2 and am installing my first WEP.  I upgraded ITM from 5.1.1 by going from FP05 to FP06 and then 5.1.2 FP01 last year, and since ITM 5.1.2 was available I decided that I'd install the AMX and AMY from it and then put the patches in 5.1.2 FP01 on.  But after installing the base AMX and AMY, I am unable to install the patches.  The wizard says that I can't install 5.1.1.660 because 5.1.1.600 isn't installed.  Now, according to IBM,  5.1.2 and 5.1.1 FP06 are both supposed to be the same code.  But in the 5.1.1 FP06 twh_install_props.cfg file I see a line, APP_REL_VERSION=5.1.1.600 , where in the 5.1.2 file it reads APP_REL_VERSION=5.1.1.  If I try to install the AMX from FP06 I get a message telling me that it's a patch and I need the base first.  What is the proper place to start?  Do I need the base ITM 5.1.1 CD?
