RE: Eclipse / ITM 5.1.2 [RESOLVED]: msg#00215sysutils.tivoli.tme10
OK, so we tripped over the Event Properties. I am appalled at ALL the places one must click and set values to get this to work. In EACH AND EVERY profile you will distribute to your endpoint(s), you must go into Edit->Properties and select "Send TEC Events" and specify the name of the event server (optionally, you could make this setting in the Tmw2kProfile named "tmw2kDefProfile", and then it would be the default for all new Tmw2kProfiles you create). 2. For each indication, you must select the indication and select "Send TEC Events". If you omit EITHER of the above steps (normally the first one is overlooked), no events will be sent to TEC. -- Frank Frank Tate Gulf Breeze Software Frank_Tate@xxxxxxxxxxxx phone: 512-426-6189 fax: 208-730-1811 -----Original Message----- From: owner-tme10@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner-tme10@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Vaughn, Dwight R Sent: Wednesday, January 05, 2005 2:39 PM To: tme10@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [tme10] Eclipse / ITM 5.1.2 We're having the same problem with our second in-house monitor. It debugs perfectly, clearly executing SendEventEx when expected, yet fails to generate an event in production. So, given that we seem to have a valid "conf" file (/usr/tivoli/lcf/dat/1/LCFNEW/Tmw2k/Unix/Tec/conf/EventServer#cbp.conf), and that at least one other custom monitor performs correctly, what are we left to look at? Plus, this information gets written to a .conf file on each endpoint under $LCF_DATDIR/LCFNEW/Tmw2k/Tec/conf. The .conf file should have approximately the same name as the profile with which it is associated. -- Frank Frank Tate Gulf Breeze Software Frank_Tate@xxxxxxxxxxxx phone: 512-426-6189 fax: 208-730-1811 From: owner-tme10@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner-tme10@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of gary.stadter@xxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, January 05, 2005 11:28 AM To: tme10@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [tme10] Eclipse / ITM 5.1.2 Unless I am mistaken, the RM is not aware of which server is your TEC server. When testing a custom Monitor for ITM 5.1.2 in the Resource Model Builder, the RMB logging viewer and Indication viewer suggest everything is fine and that Svc.SendEventEx has been called successfully .... Before I start tracing / investigating why I have no event appearing in tec ...( BAROC etc fine ) can I just verify quickly that when testing like this the event would still genuinely be sent to TEC and it is not a limitation of this environment etc ... thanks Dave ____________________________________________________________ CONFIDENTIALITY This e-mail and any attachments are confidential and also may be privileged.
