Subject: [ITM] ITM workbench help

I am starting to experiment with the workbench and creating my own resource models but one thing I cannot seem to figure out is the attributes and how that works in relationship to the output.

I have a shell script that simply outputs one of a few messages, in which states the severity.  I have created a RM using the Resource Model Wizard and I would like to be able to customize my trigger condition so that it can parse the output and make the severity dependent on pieces of the message and then the other part of that output would be the actual TEC event message.

Example:

My possible output is either: "Critical - problem with ABCapp" or "Warning - problem with XYZapp".

I realize that I can simply put in 2 trigger conditions, one for each of these but in the future my output will be much more complex and having one trigger condition per event doesn't seem like a good solution.

How can I parse up my output in variables so that it would be something similar to $SEVERITY - $ERROR_MSG and then pass that to the RM which will create an event of CRITICAL if $SEVERITY=CRITICAL and then pass on the message $ERROR_MSG?

Also,  I have the documentation that IBM offers online for the workbench and resource models but is there anything more descriptive out there that someone can recommend?

Thanks

Jeff
