Subject: Re: TEC 3.9 - Importing ITM Baroc files

That is what I did: I created an empty rule base (not a copy of Default).
Then I started dmae_tec_inst.sh. It runs for while importing about 12 baroc
files and then just hangs (e.g at importing TMW_Procesor). The java process
shows not much activity, and I don't get any RIM errors either.
Any ideas what could make importing TEC classes hang?

Frank

the TEC 3.9 relnotes describe quite elaborately what to do
when you want to import ITM/ITMD/... baroc files, and there
are some scripts provided to deal with that mess ;).

I suggest you start over with an empty rulebase and import
manually what you need, then you can sure that it works
exactly the way you intended it. It's quite confusing that
the Default rulebase contains some baroc files from ITM, ITMD/DB2
and ITMWAS already, this might even cause problems when the ITM*
products get updated.

I recommend you ignore the ITM* files from TEC Default,
and use all of the class files from the installed products.
You might keep the Default rules, or just use them as
templates for your own ideas. Some of them are really nice,
but most of them have to be tweaked for your environment
(or your customer's environment ;) ).
