I use Netview nvpagerd daemon to send sms and text messages to support peoples. It works on numeric and alphanumeric pagers and on phones too. I configured nvpagerd to use the TAP protocol with the phone number of the different providers we are using (Telus and Rogers ATT&T) and it takes care of the queuing of the different pages being sent.
