Thanks Ralph - very timely info - works a treat! Presumably this is
true for all architectures, not just Solaris?
Many thanks,

When you say "512Mb" you are referring to installed memory? That's
not much in this day & age ... what about processors? How many? How
fast? In the TEC 3.9 Installation Guide, Chapter 1 "Planning for
Installation", there is a chart (Table 1) that shows minimum &
recommended hardware features (memory, cpu, & diskspace) for the
various configurations of installed software.
We installed TEC 3.9 fresh last month on a Sun E420R w/ 4x450mhz cpus
& 2 gigs ram (Solaris 8). We upgraded memory to 4 gigs a couple weeks
ago because we expect to hammer this box, and so far it is humming
along just nicely. We run event server, RIM, event database (Oracle
9i), ui_server, TEC console, TEC gateway and an endpoint gateway all
on this one managed node.

Subject: [tme10] [EC] tec_task eating CPU on TEC 3.9 Solaris
I have just installed TEC 3.9 on 512Mb Solaris 2.8 system. Performance
is dog-like. tec_task seems to be the main culprit. I went with a
"take-all-the defaults" install, including rulesets. Anyone else seen
this before I start debugging what's going on?
Cheers,
Jane

All of them had no subject and no content.

There's a simple question for me ..
why is this only on this few machines ..? And all other are working without
adding tmersrvd to Admin-Group?
I think this will we a security-risk..
