Looking at WBEM again: msg#00000sysutils.cfg.devel
I just wanted to comment on what I've been up to lately... Currently I'm revisiting the idea of using WBEM (see http://www.dmtf.org/standards/wbem) for configuration. I had stumbled across IBM's SBLIM project (http://www-124.ibm.com/sblim/) and found out that it's possible to write WBEM providers in Perl. Unfortunately, using WBEM would require a radically different middle layer and front-end than the current Config4GNU project has.
