Edward, If you currently have link_dest turned on, I would suggest you try an experiment where you turn off link_dest and see what happens over a week or two. This should stop the "roll-back" of the whole backup from happening. Another possibility is to enable sync_first. But this would mean changing the way you invoke rsnapshot (and also requires you to have rsnapshot >= 1.2.9). See the rsnapshot man page for details if you are interested. I'm assuming you are happy to live with loss of the partial file being transferred at the time the connection is lost. If not, you can try using --partial or --partial-dir, but that can have its own problems (especially where you are tranferring a large file which already exists but is mostly the same, like a mailbox). ___________________________________________________________________________ David Keegel <djk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> http://www.cyber.com.au/users/djk/ Cybersource P/L: Linux/Unix Systems Administration Consulting/Contracting ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
