e-mail reporting patch?

Hi all,

one of the targeted improvements stated in the TODO file of the 1.2.9
release is: "Add e-mail reporting patch from David Tejedor".

What exactly is this about?

Can anyone point me to a reference, maybe a mailing list post (searched
the ml archive to no avail), or was this patch sent directly to the
author?
