Subject: Backuppc 2.1.0pl1 10.05GB archive abort by signal=ALRM

Hello everyone,

I've got this older p2 300mhz 256sdram 120GB hdd doing backups for my lan it
works okay, but I've got a problem one of the backups grew to a size of
10.05GB
and when I want to archive this I always get a :

Executing: /usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_archiveHost
/usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_tarCreate /usr/bin/split mssql-server 34
/bin/gzip .gz 680000000 /share2/dvd-backup *
Xfer PIDs are now 27365
Writing tar archive for host mssql-server, backup #34, split to output files
/share2/dvd-backup/mssql-server.34.tar.gz.*
exiting after signal ALRM
Executing ArchivePostUserCmd: /share3/pc/dvd-backup/chfp
Archive failed: aborted by signal=ALRM

this error I get if I don't split the file, or even if I split the file to
680MB parts.

NOTE: on the other computer (company2) which is a amd xp 1800+ 768ddr ram
nforce2 , I'm archving a 7.6GB file without problems into a 3.2GB one ... I
wonder do I need to adjust something on my system in order to allow that
10.05GB file to be archived ?

Sincerely
Robert B
