RE: Bare Metal Restore?

I just wanted to thank everyone that replied to this thread.  Your knowledge 
amazes
me.  I also wanted to add my comments for those that might not know...

For some reason the 'BackupPC_tarCreate' command (whether by design or my 
mistake)
will only run as the 'backuppc' user.  I had to modify my ssh command line to
accommodate this.  This is the command I used to get the restore to copy over
(without the {})

{#ssh backupPCserver 'su -c "/usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_tarCreate -h 
hostname
-n backupnumber -s sharename /" backuppc' | tar -x -p --numeric-owner 
--same-owner
-v -f -}
