I use my desktop machine but the backuppc archive is on it's own disk and BackupPC_nightly seems to be constrained mostly by seek time on that drive so it doesn't have a horrible impact if it is still running in the morning. I'd say it would be fine if normal behavior were to wait until the nightly backups completed or at least until 9 am. However, a restore request should start immediately even if BackupPC_nightly must be paused or stopped to make it work.
