the reason it's in PCI-X format; is that it's not economically worthwhile on
anything smaller. the accellerator card costs $750; while going from a
single-CPU mobo to a dual-CPU mobo will only set you back a few hundred $$$
these days.

when you have a dual-xeon, and you need to go faster; the step up to a
quad-xeon is more expensive than buying an accellerator card.

also note that you'll need to patch your kernel with their drivers, in
order to make it work. (and there's no guarantee the drivers are up to the
usual quality of the rest of the kernel).
