Hello,

I'm thinking to wake up during night the WinXX workstations I want to backup.
The wake-up part is
no problem, but I would like to turn them off again after the backup.

Does anybody knowns a linux tools which can do that ? (there is such a tool for
windows in the
resource kit of microsoft, then it's possible !)

Install cygwin! We put it on all out PC's at my kids school. Make sure
you have the sshd configured to
start as a service, and then run "shutdown -f -s now" via ssh (i.e. ssh pc -f
"shutdown -f -s now").
Otherwise, you could get one of the multiple "native" (meaning no cygwin)
shutdown commands and submit a remote
"at" job to do it.
