Initial Comment:
When playing MP3s through digital out there is a loud 
click when playback starts and when a track is finished.. 
so when youplay two tracks you get

_CLICK_ track1 _CLICK_ CLICK_ track2 _CLICK_

on the analogue out this problem does not exist. Archos 
firmware also does not do this..

Hmmm. Can you try to remove all id3 tags from a few files
and see if that helps, for debugging purposes?

Also, try to disable the Fade option.

Happens on all tracks, without exception.. I have no problem 
with Archos FW..
