[ rockbox-Bugs-859998 ] Can't start playback when batteries are being charg: msg#00332systems.archos.rockbox.sourceforge
Bugs item #859998, was opened at 2003-12-14 22:19 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by t061 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=439118&aid=859998&group_id=44306 Category: User Interface Group: Release 2.1 Status: Open Resolution: Rejected Priority: 5 Submitted By: Tobi (t061) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Can't start playback when batteries are being charged Initial Comment: Yesterday I had the following problem with Rockbox 2.1: My batteries were totally empty. So I connected the power supply to the Jukebox Recorder to charge them. Then I wanted to listen to some music. I pressed "On" a few times and finally got the Recorder to boot Rockbox 2.1 from harddisk. (Rockbox Logo appeared) But everytime I pressed a key in Rockbox, a message saying "battery loading" or something appeared and the Rockbox firmware didn't react normally to the keys. In the background I saw the file list. Disconnecting the charger caused the device to power down immediately (of course...) since the batteries were completely empty. I wasn't able to get a playing and charging Jukebox. I thought playing and charging would be possible? I tried to press the "Play" key for a longer time. This caused the hard drive to produce a series of awful clicking sounds. When I stopped pressing the backlight of the display was somehow blinking... I think this is at least bad error handling. It would be fine if you could fix that... ;) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Tobi (t061) Date: 2003-12-16 01:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=930548 When the power supply was connected to the box, I was able to boot Rockbox. Isn't it possible to stop the battery loading process and use the power of the ac adaptor to spin up the disk and play mp3s? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Bjorn Stenberg (zagor) Date: 2003-12-15 12:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1157 When the batteries are completely empty, they don't have enough power to spin the disk. This is why you had a hard time even booting into Rockbox. Wait an hour or so and everything will work again. This is not a Rockbox bug, it's a hardware design issue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=439118&aid=859998&group_id=44306 |
