the rtl8187 drivers don't do master mode

Just to save anyone else the hours I've spent trying to get the
rtl8187 drivers from Realtek into master mode, they won't go. I've
been talking to  Andrea who wrote them and he says:

"Master mode is not supported by this driver. And it most likely never
be supported."

Some new drivers are hopefully going to be built into the new 2.6.23
kernel and these may have master mode support.

So, if you've got one of the 500mW ALFA USB cards you'll have to wait
for a while. Unless anyone knows any better.
